Menu (Dialog Box in Excel 2003)

Previous Next

With Office 2007 and later, the product shows the menu items in the Excel Ribbon. The icons and buttons are context sensitive to the current user.  The Master user has full control of the software.  See the image below -

With Office 2007 -

For Office 2003, the 'Hours' page has a dedicated menu button and clicking on it brings up the following dialog box.  The short-Cut for this dialog box is 'CTRL-M  (Hold the CTRL key and press M).

Only the Master has all the buttons as shown in the image enabled.

If the Save button is clicked 36 or more days after the start of computing period, the user is prompted about this late entry.  If the save is confirmed, the font colour is shown in red for that record in the Get Crew / DB List.

The 'Print Forms' icon prints the report pages (Page 1, Page 2 & Page 2a).  The first time the icon is clicked, a message box pops up to ask the user if the prints are to be sent to .PDF printer.  (The user has to select 'No' for paper prints).  If 'No' is selected, the printing is paused when Page 1 is printed to allow the user to flip the paper over in the printer for printing on the reverse side.  Printing of these three pages from the normal Excel icon or shortcut is inhibited.

When printing to a PDF printer, the HOD's signature image is included, if the software is used on the ships.  In the office, both, the crew and HOD signatures are printed. Printing to PDF files and saving the files with the crew's name, in folder 'WRH\PDF Reports' is available only with Office 2007 or later.  With Office 2003, the user will need to assign the file name and folder individually.
