On the ship, the first time, (before entering the hours worked for each crew), the Master user sets up the vessel's parameters from the Vessel Para icon via the Menu Dialog Box (Ribbon in Office 2007)
There is a checksum routine to ensure that the Master enters a valid IMO Number. The Master may enter any text in the Ship Name field (or correct an existing entry).
The next two fields are from drop down boxes. The Master may select any value from the drop down lists.
The Company Name is automatically populated from the custom data file. The Group Name should be entered exactly as advised by the company.
The floppy disk icon is used to save the data to the database. This operation requires a PIN number for successful execution. When the correct PIN is entered, the following is done -
Once the software is purchased, the vendor will send the master, via the ship owners, a custom data file in zipped file format. The zipped file contents should be extracted to the same WRH folder as the software itself.
If the custom data files are found on the user's PC WRH folder, data is written to the custom database. If they are not found, the data is written to the default, trial mode database. If the software has been purchased, the user should ensure that the custom data files are available in the WRH folder before setting up the vessel's parameters from this dialog box.
